This is another of the few shops that have wonderful nostalgic value for us.  Our VP grew up out in the country, far from shops, but reading catalogs containing goods she could dream about, catalogs that could transport her far from her work-a-day duties cooking, grafting apples, or babysitting. The arrival of a new Orvis catalog was always an occasion, leading to day-dreams of trout-fishing,  a favorite activity with her family in backcountry streams in Washington State, and across the American West--Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas--on vacations. Her father tied beautiful flies, some of which she still treasures (going back to the 50's!). In the next generation, her niece Robyn carries on the family fly-tying tradition. We love Orvis!
